Luckydog re homes two types of pets. Conventionally-raised, "CR", pets may eat canned and cooked pet foods and can continue to be vaccinated as our vet deems safe. They generally have a lower adoption fee and no ongoing health support is included.
Luckydog's specialty is raising pets in a gentle and natural way and finding adopters to continue the care. Pets from natural breeders are in very high demand, but many adopters prefer to rescue. Luckydog, Star Mar, Bee Holistic, and BrightHaven are specialty rescues that fill a niche for these adopters. Our Naturally-Reared and Naturally-Rehabilitated, "NR", pets will only be rehomed to those prepared to feed a raw, natural diet. Adopters must agree to avoid harmful products. For example, when vaccines aren't required by law, they will be avoided. This is commonly known as "holistic" pet care.
Holistic care means "supporting the whole". Holistic care works by preventing and correcting deficiency and toxicity. Conventional medicine often ignores deficiency/toxicity and uses treatments to suppress symptoms. This would be fine except for the fact that it often allows for the deficiency or toxicity to worsen while symptoms are suppressed. Holistic carers understand the trap of trading convenience now for more disease later.
